A Resurrection Journey has been created and coordinated by The Revd Sarah Park (Diocesan Ministry Educator at the Diocese of Auckland). This project arose out of the suspicion that, as Anglicans, we suffer from misplaced liturgical focus. Sarah says, “I have long thought that as a Church we do a great job of observing Lent, often to the detriment of Easter. So much energy goes into Lenten and Holy Week preparations that Easter felt like it was about survival, not resurrection life. A liturgical focus which dwells on human weakness during Lent without also dwelling on God’s goodness in the resurrection life of Easter has serious implications for spirituality”.

This calendar is one attempt to redress this balance. It begins on Palm Sunday, journeys through Holy Week to Easter Day and then encompasses the entire Easter Season, right up to Pentecost.
