Spoiler Alert: most Advent calendars involve chocolate. This one does not!

At a time of year when schools are workplaces are wrapping up and the diary is jammed full of food and socialising and shopping, this calendar offers some stillness for reflection. The Anglican Diocese of Auckland’s Advent Calendar www.advent-anglican.nz is an attempt to reclaim the anticipation of Advent and use this season as a way of slowing down and deepening faith.

This calendar was first created by The Reverend Sarah Park (former Diocesan Ministry Educator).  After leaving it fallow for a few years, in 2025 Angela Blundell, part of the Ministry Formation Team at the Anglican Diocese of Auckland, has updated it with new content and reflections.  You can also access this content via a daily social media posts in our diocesan Facebook page
